COVID-19 Information for RISD Pre-College Students + Families

COVID-19 Update: March 20, 2020

At this time, RISD Pre-College plans to run as scheduled and we are still accepting applications.

As COVID-19 (coronavirus) continues to be an evolving situation, we are actively monitoring it locally and globally, and our top concern is our community’s health and well-being. We have been and will continue to follow all recommendations set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH).

We continue to anticipate our 6-week Pre-College program to run from June 20-August 1 on the RISD campus in Providence, RI. However, as there remains much uncertainty about COVID-19, we are monitoring changes in the situation and decisions will ultimately be guided by recommendations from public health authorities.

As a result of such uncertainty, we have extended the pay in full deadline to Monday, May 11.

Also, in the event that our Pre-College program is canceled due to COVID-19, program payments, including the deposit, will be 100% refunded. The $60 application fee and other program-related costs not billed by RISD such as travel, supplies, etc. are non-refundable.

As additional information is made available, we will share via email to students and families, and in the student applicant dashboard.

If you have any immediate questions or concerns, please contact us at precollege@risd.edu.
