Prepare your portfolio

A successful portfolio is a key component of any art school application. As a Pre-College Online student, you’re eligible to participate in two upcoming events to help strengthen your portfolio:

  • Preparing Your Portfolio: July 28, 7 pm ET (Presented by the RISD Career Center) - Receive guidance on common portfolio questions, including what images to include, what to leave out, how to document your work, and more. Learn how to make the most out of your portfolio review, including what reviewers will want to know, and what questions you should have for them. Event registration link shared in student email newsletters and available on Canvas.
  • Portfolio Review: August 20 (Presented by RISD Admissions) - Receive direct feedback from Admissions on what’s successful in your work, and what to think about developing further or improving upon. Your portfolio absolutely does not need to be finished to receive feedback; reviewers are happy to take a look at any artwork you'd like to show, in whatever stage it's in! Live, online portfolio reviews are 15 minutes long; registered students will receive an email invitation from RISD Admissions to reserve a review timeslot. 


Know your resources

Be sure to attend the upcoming webinar, Resources for Attending RISD, on July 30, 7 pm ET, available only to Pre-College Online students! RISD’s Student Financial Services will share up-to-date information about financial aid, student employment, and visas. Attending Pre-College Online does not guarantee acceptance to RISD, but if you are accepted, you will know where to find resources to help you attend.
