Tuition and Enrollment
Program cost
Total Cost: $4,635 (tuition + service fee)
Art supplies
Students will need a variety of art supplies and other materials. Each course has a separate supply list. These will be available on each course site in Canvas two weeks before the class start date. Depending on the course and instructor, you can expect to spend approximately $150-$250 per course (total estimated $300-$500).

You’re welcome to use your own supplies to reduce costs. If you have an item that is very similar to an item on the list, check with your instructor in advance to verify if it will work as an alternative. Unless otherwise indicated on the supply list, have all supplies on hand on the first day of class.
Scholarships
Partial scholarships for Pre-College Online may be available to students who demonstrate significant financial need. RISD Pre-College programs do not qualify for federal or state financial aid through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Scholarship awards are limited and the amounts vary based on the quantity of qualified applications received.
When granted, award amounts usually offset a portion of the tuition only. Applicants who have attended RISD Continuing Education (RISD CE) courses or who have applied for scholarships in a previous semester must be in good standing with RISD CE.
To apply, submit a scholarship application by February 2, 2026. The application is available in the Student Portal under "My Applications" when registration opens. Late applications will not be processed.

Dismissals and violation of Student Code refund policy
No tuition or other fees are refunded to students who are asked to leave the program for a violation of school policies or regulations.
