Housing application due (for residential students only)
The Housing Application Portal opens on March 11, 2026 for both students and parents/guardians (you will receive an email on this date with further instructions). The application is due April 1, 2026 (or as soon as possible for students admitted after April 1).
The parent/guardian email designated as the primary point of contact in the student's initial Pre-College application will be emailed a link from Residence Life to complete the online Parent/Guardian Housing Application. This application is where the parent/guardian provides student weekend away permission, move-out, and early arrival dates. This application is required for everyone, regardless of whether or not a student anticipates taking a weekend away or arriving early. The information can be changed or updated online until the start of the program. Parents and guardians should contact Residence Life at precollegehousing@risd.edu with the registered primary parent/guardian email for of any changes.
To learn more about housing during Pre-College, you can view Residence Life's Pre-College Housing information, including the Pre-College housing timeline and a link to view video tours of the residence halls.
One of the most valuable parts of the Pre-College experience is making new connections. To nurture new friendships, roommates are assigned based on the lifestyle preferences shared in your housing application. We do not give the option of requesting a specific roommate. Due to the short nature of the program, room change requests will not be available.
For any questions or concerns about housing, contact Residence Life at precollegehousing@risd.edu or 401-454-6650.

You used the Application Dashboard and your Application Login to apply to the program. You will continue to use the Application Dashboard to make your non-refundable deposit (if you’re a non-scholarship applicant). This is also where you’ll complete and submit all forms and documents seen on the dashboard’s Admitted Student Checklist.
If you forgot your password, Select “Forgot your Password?” on the application dashboard login page and follow the instructions to reset your password.
If you need assistance, contact Pre-College staff via telephone 401-454-6200 or email precollege@risd.edu (available Monday–Friday 8:30 am–4:30 pm ET).
RISD Account Login
You will use your RISD Account Login for the Health Services Portal, Housing Portal, Canvas, RISD Bucks, campus Wi-Fi access, and the RISD Mobile app.
Beginning February 18, 2026 you will receive two notifications from RISD Information Technology Services (ITS) via email (servicedesk@risd.edu) regarding your RISD Account Login.

The second email (subject line: “RISD Password and Resource Information”) will follow with a randomly generated password and more information about the resources and services available to you.
The two emails will be sent to the student’s primary email address. They will not be sent to a parent/guardian email. If you do not receive these emails within 48 hours, check your spam folder or contact the IT Service Desk via email servicedesk@risd.edu, or phone 401-454-6106 Monday–Friday 8 am–5 pm ET.
